Prachi Ghatwai is a student in the Built Ecologies program at CASE. Prachi comes from Mumbai, where she practiced as an architect for 5 years. She has a keen interest in designing circular energy and material flows around the built environment. Her work has focused on water management at the building, city and watershed scale through integrated building system and landscape design. Prachi has led training workshops, courses, and educational webinars on high-performance design, including courses published US Green Building Council educational portal.

Prior to joining CASE, Prachi attended Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, where she received a Bachelor of Architecture degree. While exploring low-cost vernacular buildings in South India and passive house building design in Germany, she developed a deep interest in the intersection of high-performance and Lo-Tek design, while designing low-cost sanitation upgrades.

Prachi’s research at CASE focuses on designing a circular water loop for an apparel factory in Ghana, integrating wastewater treatment, cooling, and heating systems. This involves the design of a thermally massive façade system that uses wastewater as a thermal energy store.
