Mia Rogers is a student in the Built Ecologies Master of Science program at CASE. Mia comes from Long Island, New York. Prior to joining CASE, she attended the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. Through studying abroad Latin America while earning her undergraduate degree, she grew her passion towards Urban design with a focus upon utilizing design as an advocacy tool for disadvantaged communities.

This drive behind her design has motivated her to pursue her thesis in the Built Ecologies program where she is developing a landscape remediation system using mycelium-based composite technology to expunge toxic contaminants threatening the wellbeing of urban community gardens. Through the support of her advisor Mae-Ling Lokko and the Atelier Luma team in Arles, France, the proposal focuses upon the tailoring of the mycelium remediation technology system to the community of Griffeuille where the design will present a means to the establishment of a socially and ecologically healthy space for community members and living organisms in the local biosphere.
